Friday marked a big win for the Rough Riders as they claimed the Wagon Wheel from the Pioneers. A surprise rainstorm looked to put a wet blanket over the evening, but it only seemed to rejuvenate both teams as they went out onto the field and performed what could only be described as quality football. With a final score of 46-33, Saginaw saw several great plays come out of their ranks from many talented athletes, such as Roman Morales with 209 passing yards with 3 touchdowns and 124 rushings yards with 3 touchdowns and Aidan Collier with 8 catches for 124 yards and 3 touchdowns. Their cooperation in forward passes set the rhythm and tone for the evening alongside Corey Baker's 85 rushing yards.
Defensively, Malik McCoy lead the charge with 8 tackles and 1 sack, followed closely behind by Rondell Thomas with 8 tackles and Chris Brewer with 7 tackles.
The Rough Riders take on FW Polytechnic this Saturday, Sept. 14th, at 10:30 am.
