Coming off another successful outing against Brewer and a relaxing fall break, the Lady Rough Riders were riding high as they stepped onto their home court to take on the visiting Lady Hornets. The night started off with a win, though a nail-bitingly narrow one, as Azle kept in near lock step with the girls in red in a razor-thin gap of 25-22. This is where their opponent found their groove, snatching victory in the following second and third sets with 19-25 and 21-25 final scores respectively. However, Saginaw was not out of the fight yet. Behind by a single favorable set, the Lady Rough Riders kicked it into high gear and reversed the results of the second in the fourth, tying up the game to a edge-of-your-seat 2-2. It all came down to the fifth and final set, in which both teams battled relentlessly for the crown. In the end, the Lady Rough Riders managed to surge ahead with a healthy five-point gap at 15-10 and bring home their second straight win.
Saginaw travels into Keller on Tuesday, October 20th, for their second meeting with the Lady Panthers of Fossil Ridge, looking to keep the win streak going strong.
