Saginaw gymnastics delivered outstanding performances at the Regional Championships held on April 9-10 at Haltom High School. The boys team secured their spot at the State Meet by placing first in the team competition, with individual victories in five of the six events. Senior Grant Morgan earned the Regional title in vault, parallel bars and high bar while senior Gabe Cheney won the pommel horse event and junior Aston Carrasco claimed victory on the rings. The State Championships is set to take place at El Paso Bel Air High School on May 3-4.

The girls team finished fourth place in a fiercely competitive Region. Despite the tough competition, they remain in the Top 10 in the State of Texas and will find out in a few weeks to see if they earned an at large bid to State. Individual state qualifiers included senior Maya Castillo with a first place tie on vault, earning the title of Regional vault champion, a first regional title for the girls team in school history. Other State qualifiers included Eva Goode on vault, balance beam, floor and All-Around, Castillo on balance beam and Chelsie Jefferson on bars and All-Around.
