In a tense matchup at Saginaw High School, the Rough Riders clinched a nail-biting victory over Azle with a score of 1-0. The game remained deadlocked at zero until the bottom of the ninth when Gavin Leadbetter's double secured the winning run. Saginaw's pitching was strong, tallying 10 strikeouts. Donnie Edgar earned the win, pitching nine innings, surrendering only two hits and zero runs. Leadbetter and Vincent Gonzalez each contributed a hit, with Leadbetter driving in the sole run of the game. The Rough travel for their second game against Azle on Friday, Mar. 22.
