The Rough Rider track teams showcased outstanding performances at the Boswell Relays on Wednesday, Mar. 6. The varsity girls team finished third at the Pioneer Relays, displaying strength in the 4x100m and 4x200m relays. Both relays set record-breaking times, with the team of London Provo, Anabelle Aguilera, Lacey Clark and Trinity Coleman breaking the school record set in 2015, running 48.33 to claim gold. The team of Provo, Elsie Zachry, Clark and Coleman lowered their school record in the 4x200m relay to 1:42.91, sweeping the relays. Provo also earned a silver medal in the triple jump and bronze in the 200m. Teammates Tatiyanna Foster and Jazmine Duncan secured silver and bronze in the 300m hurdles, with Foster achieving a personal best of 49.53. Zachry also contributed points with a third-place finish in the triple jump. In total, eight personal records and two school records were set.

On the boys side the JV team secured second overall, tallying 14 season bests. The varsity team finished sixth with 12 season bests. Standout moments included the 4x200m relay team of Darius Thomas, Aidan Collier, London Houston and Paul Barasa clinching first place with a season-best. Isaac Bukasa earned fourth in the 300m hurdles, while Isaiah Quinones secured fourth in the shot put. The 4x100m relay team of Houston, Thomas, Quinones and Jimmy Howard finished fifth with a season-best. Izaiah Epeda reached a season-best of 12' and took fifth place while Jonathan Lawson secured fifth in the Triple Jump.

The Lady Rough Riders look ahead to the Bill Schmidt Classic at UNT on March 15th and 16th. Both teams will compete at the Ranger Invitational on Mar. 22 at Chisholm Trail.
