The Rough Riders wrestled their home opener outdoors on the football field on Tuesday, Nov. 14. Rylan Luttmer secured the first victory of the night while Elijah Montez displayed resilience but lost by pin in the second period. Nic Tadi gave Saginaw another win to bolster the team's momentum. The crowd erupted in cheers as Jayceon Gray earned a pin. Jayden Bunning won by forfeit and Jaylen Martin got his career started tonight with determination but fell short of the win. Ben Mosquera won by forfeit. Elijah Roddy fell short of the victory in his match but did not give up a pin. Kevin Roberts won his match by points and nearly pinned his opponent.

The Lady Rough Riders displayed remarkable effort and earned the victory against the Lady Pioneers 24-21. Galilea Casa secured a pin against her opponent. Nghi Tran and newcomer Amy Ramirez both fell short of defeat. The final bout of the night featured Jordan Johnson who clinched victory with a pin sealing the team's win.

Both teams will compete next at the Talon Tournament at Eaton High School. The girls compete on Nov. 17 with the boys competing the following day Nov. 18.
