SAGINAW COMPETES AT DISTRICT MEET; BRADY BROOKS ADVANCES TO REGIONALS

Saginaw competes at district meet; Brady Brooks advances to Regionals

At the district 5-5A meet held on Friday, October 13, the Saginaw cross country teams displayed their competitive spirit and determination. The boys team finished in fifth place with a total score of 121. Notably, senior Brady Brooks qualified for the Regional meet with a fifth place time of 17:25 on the hilly course. This will be his third consecutive appearance at the Regional Championships. Seniors Mike Burch and Javier Tafolla also delivered excellent performances. The promising performances of underclassmen Andrei Carter, Adan Torres, and Aiden McCullough on the team bode well for a bright future.

The girls team secured a sixth place finish. Senior Madeline Braden led the girls team with a time of 23:56. Freshman Kat Lara continued her upward trajectory finishing next on the girls team followed by junior Chloe Robinson. The next eight spots on the team were occupied by six freshmen, pointing toward a promising future for the team.

Brooks will compete at the Regional Meet at Mae Simmons Park in Lubbock, TX on Monday, Oct. 23. Good luck Brady!
