Eagle Mountain Saginaw ISD is proud to announce Dustin Adams as the new head baseball coach at Saginaw High School.
Coach Adams has been a Saginaw Rough Rider since 2017 as the varsity assistant and pitching coach. Under his leadership, the Rough Riders have produced six all-district pitchers, two district pitcher of the year honors, and two playoff appearances.
“Coach Adams has done an outstanding job with our pitchers over the last several years,” Athletic Director Brent Barker said. “He is a staple in our district, and we are excited to have him step into this role, and continue what has been built over the last several seasons.”
Prior to coming to Saginaw, Coach Adams was at Weatherford High School, where he began his coaching career in 2000. Over the course of his 17 years there, he was a two-time campus coach of the year, helped lead the Kangaroos to 11 consecutive playoff appearances, two district championships, and in 2016 they were the coaching staff of the year.
Growing up, Coach Adams was an award-winning baseball player. He graduated from Wister High School in Oklahoma in 1996 and was a two time all conference second baseman and pitcher. His high school team advanced to the state tournament twice and were the runners-up once.
He earned his Associates Degree from Carl Albert State College in 1998, and his Bachelor’s Degree in Education in 2000 from Southeastern Oklahoma State.
“I am grateful for this opportunity,” he said. “We have a great group of young men coming back this year. I look forward to working with them in the off-season and am very excited to see their investments pay off in the spring.”
He and his wife Heather have two children: Dominic and Presley.
“Coach {Dustin} Adams is a fantastic hire as our head coach,” Campus Coordinator Mike Peters said. “He brings a ton of excitement and enthusiasm to Saginaw Baseball.”
Eagle Mountain-Saginaw Independent School District and Saginaw High School are pleased to welcome Coach Adams to his new role and look forward to many more successful baseball seasons ahead!
