Sophomore Francis Arroyo competed in her second Texas High School Women's Powerlifting Association State Championships on March 18. A total of 209 lifters competed in 5A Division I at the Comerica Center in Frisco. Arroyo improved her placement this year and was the State runner-up in the 165 weight class. She lifted a total of 965 pounds; 415 squat, 215 bench press and 335 dead lift. "Francis exemplified great competitive spirit at the state meet and throughout the whole season," said new head powerlifting coach Tony Pallanez. Francis earned many awards throughout the season including district and regional champion. Congratulations Francis on your many achievements this season!
