Both the boys and girls Saginaw gymnastics team earned first place at their Senior Night meet versus Round Rock and Garland ISD on Thursday, Feb. 23. The Lady Rough Riders had a season high optional performance with a score of 109.75 to take the win over Round Rock (106.35), Lakeview Centennial (84.3) and Garland (68.5). Hannah Vasquez had an outstanding night winning Vault, Uneven Bars, Floor and the All-Around.

The boys team placed first with a score of 160.3. Caleb Walrond was the All-Around champion with first place finishes on Pommel Horse, Rings and Parallel Bars. He also took second on the Horizontal Bar, third on the Floor and fourth on Vault events. Grant Morgan took first place on Vault and Horizontal Bar and second on Floor. Other top three finishes for the team included Raymond Kirkendoll third place on Floor; Liam Ryniker third on Pommel Horse and Rings; Breil Pyfer second on Vault and third on Horizontal Bar; Tim Plaisance third on Pommel Horse; and Gabriel Chase second on Rings.

The Rough Riders will host L.D. Bell on March 7 before they compete at the District Championships at Chisholm Trail High School on March 30-31.
