ROUGH RIDERS TAKE FIRST AND SECOND AT RAILROAD RUMBLE.

Rough Riders take first and second at Railroad Rumble.

Saginaw gymnastics hosted the annual Railroad Rumble on Wednesday, Feb. 8. The boys team earned first place overall for the 14th consecutive year. Caleb Walrond was the All-Around champion medaling in all six events. He had first place finishes in Pommel Horse, Parallel Bar, and High Bar. Walrond took second on the Floor and Rings and earned third place on Vault. Grant Morgan was the Rings Champion and placed second on the High Bar. Raymond Kirkendoll finished fifth place on High Bar and Floor events. Breil Pfyer was third on the High Bar and finished fourth on Floor and Vault. Tim Plaisance earned second on both the Pommel Horse and Parallel Bars. Liam Ryniker placed fourth on Pommel Horse and Parallel Bars.

The Saginaw girls team started out strong on the uneven bars hitting 5 for 5 routines. Chelsie Jefferson was the Bars champion and Hannah Vasquez was the runner-up. Eva Goode took second place on the balance beam and Maya Castillo took fourth. Goode, Jefferson, and Castillo placed in the top 5 on the floor exercise. The girls finished up the night on Vault, where Sarah Harding placed fifth and Vasquez placed fourth. In the All-Around, Castillo took fifth, Vasquez was third and Jefferson placed second. The girls scored a season high score of 107.15 which earned them an overall second place finish for the night.

The Rough Riders will be back in action for another home competition and Senior Night on Feb. 23 against Round Rock and Garland ISD.
