The Lady Rough Riders hosted the Lady Hornets from Azle on a cold and wet night on Tuesday, Feb. 7. Four minutes into the game, Azle had a free kick and took the early lead. The Lady Rough Riders played into the wind and found it difficult to get the ball out of their end. With 10 minutes left of the first half, the Lady Rough Riders tied the game up when Elsie Zachry gave a long through ball to junior captain, Madeline Braden. Braden, not giving up on the play, won the ball from the keeper and put it in the back of the net. With the wind in their favor in the second half, the Lady Rough Riders had a dominant performance; however, they could not find the back of the net. At the end of the game, the Lady Rough Riders found themselves going to penalty kicks to determine the winner. Azle finished the job by securing their penalty kicks and winning 4-2. Player of the Match goes to Braden who showed grit and determination.

Saginaw travels to Granbury on Friday, Feb. 10 for their next district game.
