Both Saginaw gymnastics teams had a great showing at their first meet of the season at Chisholm Trail on Thursday, Nov. 17. The boys team placed first with an overall score of 171. Senior Caleb Walrond won the All-Around and Parallel Bars. Other first place wins for the team included senior Breil Pyfer on High Bar; Junior Grant Morgan on Rings; and senior Raymond Kirkendoll on Pommel Horse. Morgan, Pyfer, and Zachary Phillips from Chisholm Trail tied for first on the Vault.

The Lady Rough Riders also opened their season with a win. Junior Maya Castillo and sophomore Chelsie Jefferson tied for first place on Vault. Senior Hannah Vasquez won the All-Around and Uneven Bars.

The Lady Rough Riders will compete in the Toys for Tots Invitational on Friday, Dec. 2. Both teams will compete at the Key City Invitational in Abilene on Friday, Dec. 9.
