The Rough Riders faced off against the Boswell Pioneers in the 4th annual Turf Wars at Pioneer Stadium on Thursday, Nov. 17. It took a complete team effort to come out victorious. Top wrestlers for the Rough Riders included Charles Loving with a first period fall, Dennis Madrid with a first period fall, and Montayo Garcia with a 5-4 victory. Great adversity was overcome by the Lady Rough Riders to defeat the Lady Pioneers by six points! Top matches of the night were Jizzelle Weber with a come from behind victory, Galilea Casas with a fall, and Neveah Douglas with a fall. The girls team won the final three matches to secure the win.

Over the Thanksgiving break, Saginaw wrestling also competed in a tournament at Eaton High School. The boys team placed 15th out of 19 teams and the girls earned 14th place out of 18 teams. The Rough Riders will compete in a tournament at Colleyville Heritage on Dec. 2-3 before they host the EMS ISD tournament on Dec. 9-10.
