| 3/9/2026

Thursday afternoon, the Rough Riders traveled across the tracks to face off against their district-mates in the Pioneer Relays. It was a great show out for both teams who took home massive improvements from their previous meet and claimed more medals to add to their collection.
For the boys, according to head coach Tyrell Alexander, "the athletes came to compete and did not disappoint." Luis Teran, Gabriel Arango, Dierick Hunter, Kenderick Brown, Bryson Mobley, and Jahrim Skinner all PR'd in their events, while Uriel Kigigha earned first in the 800m with a time of 1:59 and silver in 400m at 51.27. With their combined efforts, they helped lead the gentlemen to a 2nd place finish overall.
On the girls side of the turf, the team took sixth. Anabelle Aguilera placed third in the 200m with a time of 27.59 and aided the 4x100m and 4x200m relay teams that won silver and bronze respectively. The 4x400m relay team took home silver with a seasonal best of 4:26.85.
The Rough Riders head out to Arlington Bowie for the Volunteer Relays on Friday and Saturday, March 13th and 14th.
