The girls in red put up a strong fight on Friday against the visiting Lady Bearcats, keeping in close step for much of the game. With fanciful footwork and necessary teamwork, the Lady Rough Riders showed great resilience on their home court. Brooklyn Monroe led the team with a total of 20 points, and Shaniah Franklin was right behind her with a solid 19. Combing their scores with a handful more, Saginaw was able to put up a total of 47 points by the game's end. Sadly, however, Aledo managed to find the chips in their defenses and slip through to put themselves over the top with 68, beating out the Lady Rough Riders in a highly contested contested matchup that had the audience at the edge of their seats.
Saginaw moves on to face Chisholm Trail on Tuesday, January 13th, at the Ranger's gymnasium.
