Coppell High School was the stage, on Saturday, for the historic Rough Rider soccer team. A loud and proud audience was in attendance for the teams first ever appearance at the State Semifinals despite the chilly weather. Facing of against Highland Park, the boys in red put the pedal to the metal and didn't let up across both halves of the intense soccer match. adly, however, the Rough Riders were unable to gain control over the pitch and their opponents swiftly found small chips in their defense. Highland Park slipped through and scored two goals that the boys were unable to counteract with their own, ending in a 0-2 final score and bringing an end to this star-studded season. Despite the loss, this is the first time that Saginaw has advanced this far into the playoffs, and the team has certainly earned their place in the annals of Rough Rider history as the team that set the school on the path to even greater heights in the future.
