It was a big couple of days for the Rough Riders last week, taking to their home field for the district track & field meet. Over the course of the two days, the guys fought hard in a number of extremely close events. Kaiden Stewart led the way on day two by starting off with a triple jump qualification for the area meet, finishing in fourth place and setting a new personal best by over one foot. Londen Houston, Isaac Bukasa, and Isaiah Quinones placed first, second, and third respectively on day 1 in their own events, those being long jump, high jump, and shot put. All three join Kaiden at the Area meet, with Londen breaking his own school record as a bonus! The boys 4x1 relay team followed close behind them with their own qualification, finishing in first with a seaons best time of 42.61. These were only a handful of the Rough Riders that performed well over the course of the event, all of the boys in red putting up a good fight to finish off the district season strong.
The Rough Riders who qualified are off to the Area meet on Friday, April 11th, at Aledo High School. Best of luck gentlemen!
