Saginaw wrestling traveled to Chisholm Trail to compete in the annual EMS ISD wrestling tournament on Dec. 8-9. Despite facing stiff competition from 25 teams, the varsity boys team finished 14th overall. Individual highlights included Rylan Luttmer with four team points, Dylan Griffith earning three points, Nick Tadi securing seven points, Jayden Buning accumulating six points, Elijah Roddy notching seven points and Kevin Roberts earning 5.5 points. Andrew Diaz placed fourth overall with 15.5 points while Jacob Jewett placed sixth with 13 points, and Fredrick Wines contributed six team points.

The Lady Rough Riders also had a successful outing, overcoming challenging opponents and earning well-deserved medals. Standout performances include Kathryn Lara, who clinched the first-place spot in her bracket, Galilea Casas secured third place with a team score of 16, Rose Hill was 1-2 on the day while Kileigh Graham placed second in her bracket. Daniella Inana earned an impressive 20 team points for her second place finish.

Both teams are gearing up for their upcoming home match against Brewer on Thursday, Dec. 14.
