In a hard-fought district contest on the night of Oct. 13, the Rough Riders experienced a challenging defeat against Azle. Despite a remarkable comeback to take the lead, victory slipped from their grasp in the final moments of the contest. The Rough Riders had a mix of impressive offensive and defensive performances. Leading the charge on offense, Roman Morales had 202 passing yards and two touchdowns. Benny Cordova had seven receptions for a total of 71 yards and one touchdown. Meanwhile, Corey Baker contributed to the ground and air game, amassing 85 rushing yards, 29 receiving yards, and one touchdown. On the defensive front, Robert Moreno and Isaiah Quinones were standout performers with 11 and eight tackles, respectively. Tyler Self impressed with eight tackles, two interceptions, and one touchdown. Jonathan Lawson contributed four tackles and one interception.

Saginaw will travel to The Colony on October 27.
