Fifteen athletes from Saginaw's track and field competed in the Area track meet at Northwest Texan Stadium on Friday, April 21. The boys team finished in sixth place and the girls teams finished in seventh place overall. Jacob Brewer earned the silver medal in the triple jump. The 4x100m relay team of Darius Thomas, Terique Shaver, Isaiah Quinones and Aidan Collier placed fourth with a time of 43.18. The 4x200m relay made up of Shaver, Thomas, Collier and Paul Barasa took third place with a time of 1:30.53. Barasa was fifth in the 200m. Adriana Vargas-Concepcion finished fourth in the 800m with a time of 2:28.87. This is her second time qualifying for Regionals. The 4x200m relay team of London Provo, Anabelle Aguilera, Elsie Zachry and Trinity Coleman placed second with a new school record time of 1:45.34. Emily Story was in fifth place in the 300m hurdles.

In total 13 athletes advanced to the Regional meet at Lowery Stadium in Lubbock, TX on April 28-29. Good luck Rough Riders!
