The Saginaw gymnastic teams competed in the Regional Championship at Trinity High School on April 11-12. The boys team had a great first day of competition putting up three perfect 10.0s on the floor and high bar. On day two the Rough Riders secured the Region Championship title with a score of 334.8. Caleb Walrond claimed a school record when he won his third Regional All-Around title. Walrond was also the pommel horse region champion and Grant Morgan was the Region Champion on the rings and parallel bars.

The Lady Rough Rider had a solid first day of competition placing fourth as a team. They maintained their fourth place finish after day two. In the All-Around top finishers were Hannah Vasquez in eighth place, Chelsie Jefferson in ninth place and Eva Goode in 11th place. Goode also placed 10th on vault and the floor events. Maya Castillo earned eighth on vault. On the uneven bars Vasquez took fifth place and Jefferson placed eighth. Even though the team placed fourth, they had a high enough qualifying score that they earned a team spot at the State meet.

Both the girls and boys teams will be compete at the Texas State Gymnastics Championships in College Station on April 28-29.
