In the first quarter, Giovanni Petrella escaped pressure, rolled out and connected with Zach Garrett along the sideline for a 18-yard catch. Jacob Brewer had a 12-yard run to push Saginaw out toward mid-field early in the first half, and the defense had several plays that gained minimal yardage.
The Rough Rider defense forced a fumble in the second half, Jimmy Howard ran down the running back, Jonathan Lawson knocked the ball out, and Howard recovered the ball.
Leading Saginaw statistically; Brewer had 37-yards rushing, while Garrett and Aidan Collier combined for 63-yards receiving. Defensively, Howard had eight total tackles, and Lawson had seven. Howard, Jonus Wren and Israel Stevenson each had a pass breakup.
