Traveling across the tracks last Friday, the Saginaw Rough Riders took to the turf of their friendly rival, Boswell High School, in the annual Battle for the Wagon Wheel. The first game of the season proved to be a test of will for the boys in red, as they were met with a very strong Pioneer team. Pursuing the defense of the coveted Wagon Wheel, the Rough Riders played well in rapid, explosive displays across the course of the game, but were unfortunately unable to hold the line against their opponent, ending in a 7-59 defeat. However, the resolve of the team was present in every play, and the experience gathered shows they are ready to bounce back against their next foe.
Friday, September 4th, the Rough Riders are on their home field to battle against the Brewer Bears.
