It was fierce matchup on Rough Rider turf last Friday as the boys in red took on their district-mate Chisholm Trail in the second round of their meeting. The onset of the game was a dead-even struggle for both teams, neither giving up any ground over the course of four innings and keeping the score a tied 0-0. However, an explosion of activity unfortunately saw the visiting Rangers rocket ahead in the scoring, bringing home ten runs in the top of the fifth with six hits. Unfortunately, the Rough Riders were unable to make up the difference by the end of the evening, and sadly came away with a heartbreaking 0-11 defeat. Alfonso Izarraras led the charge on both defense and offense, striking out seven from the mound and making one hit in two at-bats.
The Rough Riders finish out the in-season with a doubleheader against the Panthers of Fossil Ridge, round one being held at Saginaw on Tuesday, April 21st.
