Yet another strong performance by the Rough Riders last week at the gymnastics regionals meet at Thomas Coliseum. Both the ladies and the gentlemen put on stellar performances that earned them big wins across both days.
Early in the morning, the boys absolutely dominated the mats, finishing first in every event and demonstrating their adaptability in the optional routines. Gold medals on pommel and floor set the tone and pace for the Rough Riders early on, and they didn't led up as they transitioned into vault , parallel bars, rings, and capping off another championship win rings.
Later in the day, the girls took the floor, chalking up a grand total of 113.800 tema points and bringing home a fourth-place finish. Cameron McDaniel helped lead the charge with a state qualification in the All-Around, and Audrey Little made an impressive debut for her high school career with a state qualification on the balance beam. Chloe Wells, Coryn Crippen, Jayde Pacheco, Jazlene Hernandez, Jaliyah Martin all made valuable contributions to the final team score and fished out the year strong in an extremely competitive showdown.
Next up, the boys, Cameron, and Audrey travel to Permain High School in Odessa next week for the State Meet, next Friday and Saturday, April 24th & 25th.
