The Rough Riders were out in force on Saturday. Both boys and girls teams faced off against a plethora of talented teams in the annual Rough Rider Relays.
On the part of the gentlemen, they were leaps and bounds ahead of the pack. Several stellar individual performances coalesced to earn the team a fourth place finish. Khylon Griffin brought home gold and bronze in the 200m and the 400m respectively, Deon Duncan took silver in the 300m hurdles, Adan Torres finished second in the 3200, and Uriel Kigigha was second on the podium for the 800m with a personal best of 2:02.95.
On the girls' side of the track, they performed just as well, taking eleventh out of the 22 competing teams.
The girls were lead by junior hurdler Jazzmine Duncan who accounted for 16 points, followed closely by teammates Journe' Allen, Kamryn Weeks, and Crystal Lopez all improving on their times from the previous week's meet by seconds in their respective events.
Both teams seek to keep up the momentum at the DeSoto Nike Invitational at DeSoto High School.
