In a major upset Thursday, the at-the-time 3-2 Rough Riders took down the 6-0 titan of Arlington Heights in the boys in red's closest victory so far. Saginaw struck first in the opening quarter, securing a single touchdown that put them over the top and proved the Yellowjackets' defense was not undefeatable. The offensive floodgates flung open in the second and third quarter for both teams as they consistently battled for dominance over the field, and the defensive phalanx held the line in the final 15 minutes to cement the razor-thin victory for the Rough Riders 50-47. Head Coach Mike DeWitt praised the teamwork and collaboration of the entire team and looks forward to keeping the momentum going in their next matchup.
Saginaw is on the road to Farrington Field on Thursday, October 16th, to take on the Paschal Panthers.
