Saginaw swimming competed in their second meet of the season on Thursday, Oct. 5 at the Wilkerson-Greines Activity Center, with the girls placing fourth place and the boys clinching a strong third place finish. The meet was filled with exciting moments, including junior Macey Braden and sophomore Gavin Masters Hogan both securing victories in the 50 freestyle heats. Sophomore Sophianne Cortes dominated the 100 Fly, earning an overall win. The girls 200 freestyle relay team claimed a second place finish, and junior Vincent Quijano set a new school record in the 100 Breaststroke. The meet was also marked by numerous personal best times achieved by many swimmers, and it saw three athletes bravely take on the 50 free for the very first time. The Rough Riders will compete at the NISD 5A Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 14 at 10 a.m.
