The Saginaw boys and girls team competed in the District 5-5A Championships held at the Northwest ISD Aquatic Center on Friday, Jan. 20. The girls team placed fifth overall and the boys teams placed sixth overall. Freshman Sophianne Cortes earned the title of District champion in the 50-yard Freestyle with a time of 24.68. Sophomore Macey Braden took seventh place in the 100-yard Breaststroke. The Rough Riders advance 12 to the Regional Championships on Feb. 3-4 at the Mansfield Sports Complex.
