The second-ever Battle for the Silver Spurs was a momentous occasion for both teams under the Friday night lights this past week. Saginaw faced off against Chisholm Trail for the right to keep the argent accessories they'd claimed the previous year and put up an admirable effort. Determination was the word of the evening as the Rough Riders mobilized against the Rangers with the same hearty defense they have been putting up all season and the lightning-like offense in response to taking possession. However, despite their valiant efforts and the strong fight they displayed, the boys in red ultimately came up short against the Rangers by a margin of only ten points in a final score of 17-27. But, this defeat does not mark the end. Because of their overwhelmingly positive record this season, the Rough Riders are headed to the playoffs for the second year in a row!
Thursday, November 13th, Saginaw regroups and travels to Birdville ISD FA/AC Stadium where they will battle Aledo for the title of Bi-District champions.
