Larry Holman

Coach Holman brings more than two decades of coaching and teaching experience at the high school and collegiate levels. His background includes coaching roles in both boys and girls basketball, football, and track programs across Texas, including stints at Waxahachie, Irving, Weatherford College, and Sul Ross State University. Most recently, Holman led the Waxahachie Lady Indians to their first winning season since 2017–2018. During his tenure, they captured several tournament titles and increased participation numbers yearly while developing individualized training programs to improve skills while fostering a positive team culture.


A highly respected educator, Holman was named Beginning Teacher of the Year at Plano East Senior High School. In 2022, he was inducted into the Sul Ross State University Hall of Honor as a member of the coaching staff of the 2004 men’s basketball team, which won the ASC Men’s Basketball Championship and advanced to the NCAA Division III Sweet 16.

Holman holds a Master of Education in Kinesiology from Sul Ross State University and a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Langston University. Coach Holman, known for cultivating disciplined, competitive teams with strong academic support and positive character development, looks forward to building a program rooted in hard work, respect, and pride.
