Zach Henson

Coach Henson has been the boys and girls varsity golf coach at Saginaw since 2014.

Since taking over, his golf teams have done extremely well. The 2021-2022 boys and girls teams were both district runner-ups, and in the spring of 2021, one of his players became the first ever regional champion in Rough Rider history. The 2017-18 season was a successful one. On the boy’s side, Saginaw had the 3rd place in district 6-5A medalist who advanced to the Regional tournament in Lubbock and just missed the state tournament by a couple of strokes. On the girl’s side, the team won 2nd place in district 6-5A, and advanced to the regional tournament in Lubbock where they finished 4th, just missing a state bid by two strokes. Two medalists from the team advanced to the state tournament and finished 9th place and 15th place individually. That season marked the third year in a row that Saginaw has been represented at the state tournament.

Previously, Coach Henson worked as the Assistant Boys and Girls Golf Coach in Granbury ISD. While in Granbury, Coach Henson was part of a successful golf program that saw both the boys and girls teams flourish including district championships, regional championships, and state appearances.

Coach Henson was born in Arlington, Texas. He graduated from Burleson High School in 2002. Coach Henson attended Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Texas, and earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History with a Texas Teaching Certificate 8-12 Social Studies.

Coach Henson is married to his wife, Kacie. The couple has two daughters, Lucie and Ellie and a boy, Zach Jr.
